2. Stitch length within the embroidery design (which depends on design and kinds of the stitch),

3. Length of thread within the cones.

Now, by using the below formula, a garment merchandiser can easily calculate the embroidery threads consumption within the garment industry .

Embroidery thread consumption for 1pc garment (No. of the cone),

Now one example is enough to remove all the confusion from the above discussion.

Example:-

Suppose, the customer H&M provides you a knitted sport shirt (with embroidery) order (10000pcs), where the no. of stitch within the embroidery is 5000 and stitch length is 5mm, now calculate the embroidery thread consumption for the above sport shirt order.

Solution:

Given that,

Stitch quantity within the embroidery design = 5000,

Stitch length within the embroidery design = 5mm

Length of thread within the cone = 5000m (let).

Now,

Embroidery thread consumption for 1pc polo shirt (No. of the cone),

= 0.001cone.

So, for a 1pc polo shirt, embroidery threads needed 0.001 cones.

And,

For 10000pcs polo shirt, embroidery threads needed (0.001 × 10000) = 100 cones.
