Production engineering (project planning and development), hiring and training staff, machinery and equipment maintenance (maintenance of buildings, air conditioning, and power supplies), and technical stores (holds all items needed for repairs and maintenance) are the main service departments.



• Control function: This includes services that give production management regular, up-to-date information on the overall and specific performance of the factory, such as quality control. It makes it possible for those in charge of manufacturing to foresee and fix deviation from plans. Production planning and control, financial control, and quality control are the three primary control activities.
